Emmy-winning director Reed Morano, famous for her work on The Handmaid’s Tale and I Think We’re Alone Now, is about to direct a new movie titled Keeper of the Diary.
The post-World War II drama will follow Anne Frank’s father Otto Frank’s search for a publisher for his daughter’s diary that she had written while in hiding from the Nazis in the Netherlands. Otto Frank was the sole surviving member of his family after they were arrested and taken to a concentration camp. Anne Frank had died just a few weeks before the concentration camp was liberated.
The script was written by Evan Kilgore and Samel Franco, and bought by Fox Searchlight last year.
