“Game of Thrones” Breaks Records with Emmy Nominations

Peter Dinklage in "Game of Thrones"

Game of Thrones has been given multiple opportunities to claim an armful of Emmy Awards for its final season.

The HBO series, which sang its swan song two months ago, received a record-breaking 32 nominations — the most in a single year by a drama or comedy series.

The figure brings the total number of nominations received by the show throughout its 8-year run to 161, another record.

The show’s star, Peter Dinklage, also set a new record for the most nominations in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.

Check out all the nominees for the 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards which will be held on September 22nd.
