Nancy Drew is doing a switcheroo.

The CW is bringing the teenage detective back to screens in a new series starring Kennedy McCann.

The unknown actress will portray the titular character who thought she’d be leaving home for college following her high school graduation, but is instead held back due to a family tragedy and finds herself involved in solving a local mystery.

The series, created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who brought us Gossip Girl and Dynasty, featured Freddie Prinze Jr. as Nancy’s estranged father in the pilot, which has officially been picked up by the network.

However, the role has now been recast, with Scott Wolf taking over.

The Party of Five star has a rather important part to play as Nancy’s investigative work reveals unsettling secrets about the attorney’s past.

Nancy Drew will hit screens in the fall.
