“Fantastic Beasts 3” Gets a Release Date

Sorry, Muggles. Those fantastic beasts will not be found anytime in the near future.

The prequel series to Harry Potter is expected to have five films, with the first two — Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald — having been released in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

Now, alas, Warner Bros. has confirmed that a rather long wait is in store for part three…

Production is scheduled to commence in the spring of 2020, with a release date set down for November 21st, 2021.

“We are incredibly excited about and have confidence in the Fantastic Beasts series,” said Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich. “We all believe this release date will give the filmmakers time and space to allow their artistry to truly flourish and deliver the best possible film to our fans.”

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling will once again be penning the screenplay for the film, which will star Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander.
