Don’t go breaking my heart with a bad romance.

That’s the message that fans of Elton John will be sending out to a group of artists who have been tasked with covering some of his classics.

The 70-year-old announced in January that he would be retiring from touring following a 40-year career on the road and that he will be embarking on a three-year-long tour as a grand farewell.

But while the Rocket Man is “still standing”, he has selected several musicians whom he trusts enough to provide their own version of the songs he made famous as part of 2 new albums.

Titled Revamp and Restoration, the CDs will feature pop and country tracks, respectively.

Those tasked with stepping into Elton’s presumably very expensive shoes will be Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert, Roseanne Cash, and Willie Nelson, amongst others.

It has already been revealed that Pink and Logic will pair up for Bennie and the Jets, while Florence + the Machine will provide her pipes for Tiny Dancer.

Both albums are out on the 6th of April.

We hope we feel the love that night.
