Check Out the Chilling First Trailer of “The Grudge” Remake

The Grudge is due for a remake and the first trailer is terrifying.

Since the 2002 Japanese original was released, the creepy child from The Grudge has been plaguing the nightmares of horror fans. The franchise follows a house in which a deceased family’s rage gives birth to a curse that passes like a virus.

The upcoming remake will re-imagine the original feature and the 2004 American remake. By the looks of things, it’s going to be just as creepy and it’s jam-packed with jumpscares.

You can check out the trailer here.

The remake is being directed by Nicolas Pesce. Speaking with EW, he said of the horror film series: “The beauty of The Grudge franchise, both the American and Japanese iterations, is it’s an anthology series. Every movie is a different story of different characters having different interactions with this curse”

He added: “In today’s age where we’re remaking everything, I thought it would be fun to dive into The Grudge universe where we don’t have to remake anything, but rather a new chapter in this canon.”

The Grudge is due to be released in movie theaters in the first quarter of 2020.
