Summer may be drawing to a close, but a banger has just been released that will make you forget the weather is turning colder.
Charli XCX and Troye Sivan have decided to team up again on the new track “2099.”
The single is a leap into the future for the pair, who previously collaborated on a song called “1999” that came out last fall.
“When I first moved to LA three years ago and first got my place, I was doing a lot of house parties,” Charli told Rolling Stone. “It’d be open invite and a lot of people came, a lot of people I didn’t know. It was pretty fun actually. Troye came to one of the parties, and that’s where I first met him. We got talking and realized we had a lot of mutual friends. Immediately I thought he was super sweet.”
The fated meeting will soon see the friends put out a music video for “2099” that will feature on the “Boom Clap” singer’s upcoming album Charli, along with “1999”.
