Get that milk ready, because we now know when to expect Cats.

After 37 years on stage, the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical is set to pounce onto the big screen.

Les Misérables director, Tom Hooper, will helm the project which has signed on Dreamgirls actress Jennifer Hudson, The Lord of the Rings actor Sir Ian Mckellan, Look What You Made Me Do singer Taylor Swift, and Into the Woods star James Corden.

Jennifer is in line to play Grizabella, the former ‘Glamour Cat’, while Sir McKellen will reportedly play patriarch Old Deuteronomy.

Universal Studios has now announced that Cats will be released on the 20th of December 2019.

That date was originally set for the film adaptation of another hit musical, Wicked, which is being moved to accommodate its production schedule.

The man who brought Cats to life, Sir Lloyd Webber, is believed to be penning new songs for the musical which already includes the famous track Memory.
