Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Luyendyk (nee Burnham) welcomed their first child together!
The Luyendyk’s baby girl arrived on May 29th at 2:09 p.m. The proud new dad took to his Instagram story to share details of his child’s birth, telling followers “We have a BEAUTIFUL and healthy baby girl. 6lbs, 13oz. 20cm [sic] long. Mommy and baby are doing great, we are so incredibly happy.”
The Bachelor alums met on Luyendyk’s season, where he actually proposed to Becca Kufrin. Only after the proposal did Luyendyk realize that he had made a terrible mistake, and the one he truly loved and wanted to be with was Burnham.
Luyendyk made the dramatic and controversial decision to leave Kufrin and pursue Burham again. Burham clearly returned his feelings as the two became engaged on the After the Final Rose Special.
Despite tumultuous beginnings, Luyendyk and Burnham’s love seems not to have wavered since. The pair announced their pregnancy in November, wed in January, and moved in to their first home in April.
The newlyweds were also pleased to announce their daughter’s “unique” name: Alessi Ren Luyendyk. Burnham says that “It was a name we kind of tweaked into something unique.” Congrats to the Luyendyks!
