Avatar: The Last Airbender took us on quite a journey in its first season, and there’s more where that came from! Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the hit anime series will be back for two more installments, but Season 3 will also mark its final chapter.

Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in a world divided into four nations, whose harmony was destroyed after the Fire Nation chose to rebel against the status quo. It’s now up to the twelve-year-old Aang to restore the balance between the nations and fulfill his destiny as the next Avatar, who has the power to control all four elements.

Gordon Cormier led The Last Airbender cast as Aang, and he was joined by Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Ken Leung as Commander Zhao, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.

The quick renewal of this live-action anime doesn’t come as a shocker, since it attracted 21.2 million viewers and 154.4 million hours watched during its debut week to top Netflix’s global TV chart. The streamer renewed it for two more seasons, but they’re also planning to conclude this story with Season 3, sticking to the formula that proved successful with the original anime series.
