This is Why Amy Schumer isn’t Changing Her Name

Amy Schumer may have put a ring on it, but her name is staying as is.

The I Feel Pretty actress got married in February in a surprise wedding attended by fellow Hollywood stars, Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Larry David, and Amy’s bestie, Jennifer Lawrence.

The new nuptials technically mean that Amy Schumer should be known as Amy Fischer, after saying her “I do’s” to chef, Chris Fischer.

But the comedienne is having none of it!

“Are you still Amy Schumer or are you Amy Fischer now?” asked the actress’s father on Instagram.

“I’m not Amy Fischer!” was the response. “Do you remember who Amy Fischer is? The Long Island Lolita.”

As it turns out, “Amy Fisher” (without the “c”), spent 7 years in prison for severely wounding Mary Jo Buttafuoco (the wife of the man Amy was having an affair with) at the tender age of 17.
Years later, Amy released a sex-tape with her husband and embarked on a career as a stripper and adult entertainment actress.

No wonder our Amy wants to avoid any confusion!

The 36-year-old continued by telling her dad, No, I’m keeping my last name. I’m keeping your last name.”

We wonder if Chris would consider being a “Schumer” too…
