The half-hour sketch comedy series from Robin Thede is officially returning for a second season.
News of the renewal was confirmed by Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO programming.
A Black Lady Sketch Show features sketches performed by a core cast of black women, namely series creator Thede along with Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Quinta Brunson.
“It’s been thrilling to see the audience embrace the characters that Robin, Ashley, Gabrielle and Quinta have brought to life,” Gravitt said in a statement. “We had a blast making this groundbreaking sketch show with Robin, Dime and all of the writers and producers, and I can’t wait to see what next season holds.”
Lauren Ashley Smith serves as head writer with Insecure’s Isssa Rae serving as executive producer.
