Zoë Kravitz will be tapping into her feline instincts for the new Batman film.

The Big Little Lies actress has been cast as Catwoman in The Batman which is a reboot of the caped crusader’s adventures, helmed by Matt Reeves.

The role is one that comes full circle for Kravitz as she was previously an audition for The Dark Knight Rises because they reportedly weren’t “going urban.”

The role in that film ultimately went to Anne Hathaway who has since congratulated Kravitz on succeeding her.

“The biggest congrats to @zoeisabellakravitz on landing the role of a lifetime. Well, one life anyway… Enjoy the ride, Selena,” the Modern Love actress wrote on Instagram.

Kravitz’s step-father, Jason Momoa — who plays Aquaman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — also shared his pride, saying, “So freaking stoked.”

Kravitz is no stranger to playing Catwoman aka Selina Kyle — she provided the voice for the character in The Lego Batman Movie.

She will now be pulling on that black Lycra suit for real opposite Robert Pattinson’s Batman when The Batman hits theatres on June 25th, 2021.
