FX confirmed Wednesday that Diane Lane has been tapped to star in the Y: The Last Man pilot.
The Oscar-nominated actress joins a previously announced ensemble of stars including Imogen Poots, Barry Keoghan, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield and Marin Ireland.
Y: The Last Man is based on DC Comics’ acclaimed series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra. Lane will headline the pilot playing Senator Jennifer Brown opposite her son Yorick Brown (Keoghan) and daughter Hero Brown (Poots).
The series delves into issues of race, gender, class and survival in a post-apocolypic world where a new order of women reins after all male mammals have been decimated save for one lone human.
Lane current projects include a role on the sixth and final season of House of Cards and Amazon’s The Romanoffs.
