Funnyman Will Ferrell is recovering at home after being involved in a car accident on Thursday night.

The House actor was returning from a Funny or Die comedy event when the Lincoln Navigator in which Will was being driven was rear-ended by a Toyota Highlander.

The collision, which occurred along the Orange County I-5 Highway in California, resulted in the 50-year-old’s vehicle flipping over.

In addition to Will, three other riders were rushed to hospital following the incident.

Despite the severity of the actor’s injuries not being made public, witnesses spotted him on the phone while entering the ambulance on a stretcher, confirming that he was at least conscious and able to talk.

Reports have claimed that the driver of the other vehicle fell asleep at the wheel—the accident occurred at around 10:50pm— but that no alcohol or drugs were involved.

Will’s manager confirmed to Deadline that he has been released following a brief hospitalization.

We have to say that this incident was definitely not funny. And we’re super glad that no one died.
