Those who worked with and admired Katherine Helmond have paid their respects upon the actress’s passing.
The 89-year-old actress suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease and died as a result of complications in her Los Angeles home on the 23rd of February.
Her death was announced a week later, with her former co-stars sending their condolences.
Helmond was probably best known for her role as Mona on Who’s the Boss? between 1984 and 1992.
Alyssa Milano, who was a young girl at the time, eulogized the actress on Twitter, describing her as “My beautiful, kind, funny, gracious, compassionate, rock.”
Fellow co-stars, Tony Danza and Judith Light, called the Golden Globe-winning actress a national treasure and inspiration to many.
Helmond also appeared on Everybody Loves Raymond as the mother of Patricia Heaton’s character Deborah. Her on-screen daughter referred to her as a “class act and incredibly down to earth.”
A memorial for the late actress is being planned.
