After years of bloodthirsty hilarity, What We Do in the Shadows will soon take its final bow. Fans of the beloved mockumentary comedy horror series are getting ready to say goodbye after FX announced their decision to cancel this show after six seasons.

Based on Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s 2014 film of the same name, What We Do in the Shadows offered a fun new twist on the vampire lore. Like the original film, it centered on a group of centuries-old vampires trying to navigate the complexities of the modern world, but it shifted focus to brand-new characters.

This fan-favorite series took us to New York City’s Staten Island and saw Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth (Matt Berry), Nadja of Antipaxos (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) clashing with the modern world and other supernatural creatures.

What We Do in the Shadows was created for FX by Clement, and it became quite a hit following its premiere in 2019. In addition to winning over the fans and critics, it also received 21 Emmy nods, including two in the coveted outstanding comedy series category.

FX is yet to announce the release date for the sixth and final season of What We Do in the Shadows, but it will most likely feature 10 episodes like the previous five.
