A boy who kills may have heart, but we’re pretty sure this is the right boy.

With Steven Spielberg directing a new film version of West Side Story, we’re proud to announce that he’s found his Tony.

Tony is the musical’s lead character who is a former member of the Jets (and best friend of the gang’s leader, Riff) who falls in love with Maria, the sister of Bernardo, the leader of the rival gang, the Sharks.

The love story between Tony and Maria is the premise for the 1957 musical which is based on Romeo and Juliet.

Spielberg has now chosen Ansel Elgort to portray the role of the lovesick crooner.

The 24-year-old is best known for The Fault in our Stars and is also a singer with Island/Universal Records.

Filming for West Side Story is set to begin in the summer of 2019.

Keep cool, boy.
