“The Umbrella Academy” Renewed for a Second Season

Ellen Page, Robert Sheehan, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Aidan Gallagher, and Emmy Raver-Lampman in "The Umbrella Academy"

Well, Netflix, it’s about time!

It was almost a certainty that the streaming service would renew The Umbrella Academy for a second season, but it’s nice to know that things are now official.

The series, based on characters from the Dark Horse comic of the same name by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, premiered in February and was celebrated for its unconventionality and dark humor.

The renewal means that we will get to see whether the plan put in place by the super dysfunctional family to save the world from one of their own succeeds.

Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, and Ellen Page will return in their respective rolls as Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Number Five, Ben, and Vanya.

Production will begin in Toronto during the summer.

Someone please remind Klaus to show up.
