15 years after Lizzie McGuire left our screens, our favorite 13-year-old will be coming back!
Except, she won’t be thirteen anymore.
Disney has announced that it will be rebooting the series for its Disney+ streaming service and will be bringing Hilary Duff back in the titular role.
Now 31 years old herself, Duff will no longer be playing the teenager trying to become popular in high school, but rather a 30 year old trying to adult in New York City. The show’s original creator Terri Minsky will serve as showrunner.
“I think now is a great time for her to come back in her 30s. She’s everybody’s best friend and I can’t wait to go on this next chapter with her and I hope everyone is as excited as I am!” said Duff.
The actress confirmed the news — and her excitement — on Instagram with clips of her from the show.
