]]>Many famous names have been recognized for the influence they have on the world as part of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2019.
The prestigious list is divided into five categories: Pioneers, Artists, Leaders, Icons and Titans.
Those emanating from Hollywood include big names such as Dwayne Johnson, Taylor Swift (who is rumored to be releasing new music this month), recent Oscar winner Regina King, fellow Oscar winner Lady Gaga, Chrissy Teigen, Sandra Oh, Korean pop group BTS, Khalid, comedian Hasan Minhaj, and Richard Madden.
Not everyone made one of the special covers, but those who did included Taylor, Dwayne, and Sandra.
Now in its 16th year, the editorial director of the TIME 100, Dan Mascai, describes the list as “a community of hundreds of global leaders, many of whom support and challenge one another. And at a time when so many of our problems require cross-disciplinary solutions, they are also uniquely positioned to effect change. When you connect extraordinary people, they can do even more extra-ordinary things.”
And how extraordinary they are!

]]>On March 30th 2019, the Killing Eve actress made her debut on Saturday Night Live by hosting for the first time, and on March 30th 2018 she finally became an American citizen.
Sandra was born in Ottawa, Canada and has lived and worked in the United States since 1997. Twenty-one years later she received her citizenship and chose to commemorate the anniversary during her SNL monologue.
“I love Americans. You are confident and direct. And now that I am an Asian-Canadian-American, I’m trying to learn a thing or two about tooting my own horn.”
And she has every reason too, considering that in the past year she has co-hosted the Golden Globes and won a Globe, an Emmy, and a plethora of other awards for her role in Killing Eve.
Luckily, SNL regular, Leslie Jones, was on hand to offer Sandra some advice: “You have to learn how to accept a compliment… It’s not about the brag; it’s about the swag. You just have to have confidence.”
Go get ‘em, Sandra!

]]>The Killing Eve star, who is known for playing rather serious characters on screen, had the chance to let down her curly hair in January when she emceed the Golden Globe Awards with Andy Samberg.
Now, the 47-year-old actress is heading to Andy’s old stomping ground.
She has been confirmed to host an episode of Saturday Night Live — becoming only the second Asian-American to do so following Awkwafina’s performance late last year.
Sandra will take the reins on the 30th of March alongside Australian band Tame Impala, who will be appearing on SNL as the musical guests.

]]>But, according to its lead actress, Killing Eve is set to get even darker in season two.
The sophomore instalment will continue just 30 seconds after the point season one had ended, on a rather “sharp” cliffhanger, as Eve Polastri continues to hunt down the assassin Villanelle.
Sandra Oh, who plays Eve, has already picked up a multitude of awards for the role, and teased what’s in store for her character during an interview with Uproxx.
“You know, I’d say definitely for Eve’s character — her journey — it gets super dark. I feel like she is pushed to the limit in her — not so much pursuit of Villanelle at this point — but her dynamic with Villanelle and her pursuit of her job. And she’s pushed to the limit, and then she goes over. She fell over. Yeah.”
We’ll find out just how far Eve fell when Killing Eve returns on 7th of April 2019.

Sandra and Ellen Pompeo have had a long friendship, dating back to 2005 when they both starred on Grey’s Anatomy.
And despite Dr. Cristina Yang having discharged herself from the series, the two seem to have remained close.
So when Sandra became the first Asian woman to be nominated in the category for her work on Killing Eve, Ellen sent not one, but two congratulatory tweets!

]]>It’s been 4 years since Sandra Oh gave her dose of sharp wit to patients on Grey’s Anatomy. Meredith’s best friend and Seattle Grace’s top cardiologist left at the end of the show’s 10th season, leaving a massive hole in fans’ hearts (no pun intended).
Ever since McFans have been hoping that Dr. Yang will show up along the hospital corridors to whip everyone back into shape with her “dark and twisty” directness.
But it seems as though that hold-up in the waiting room is going to be extended because Sandra has said that she doesn’t see herself donning her scrubs again anytime soon.
“The idea of stepping back into the Cristina shoes, it doesn’t feel right to me right now,” said the actress who is now starting on BBC drama, Killing Eve.
“It’s so funny. Every year, it’s like I hear that I’m coming back to the show. Like for real. But what I realize is, in a way that I’m really pleased and grateful for, is that the show is continuing on with its life and that the show and the people who are still attached to the show are still attached to Cristina. It means a lot to me.”
Ah, Sandra. You’ll always be our “person”.
