Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have finally graced us with the name of their new baby: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor!

In alignment with the couple’s wish to lead a “normal” life, they have declined to style their son’s name with a royal title.

Unlike his cousins, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children, Archie will not be a Lord or an Earl, but instead will be called Master Archie so that he may be raised as a private citizen.

While little Archie is seventh in line for the throne, he is not technically a prince; only William and Kate’s first child, Prince George, is.

That honor may be bestowed upon him by his great-grandmother, the Queen, as she did with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s other children: Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Baby Archie was introduced to the world during an interview with his parents on Wednesday afternoon. He was held in his father’s arms during the press photo-op, while proud mother, Meghan, looked on.

The Duchess told the media that motherhood is “magic. I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m really happy.”

Congrats to the happy couple, and welcome to the world Master Archie!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have brought a baby boy into the world early Monday morning at 5:26 a.m.

The couple did away with the traditional royal photoshoot outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, and instead opted for the birth of their 7 pound 3 ounce son at their Frogmore Cottage residence.

Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, was by her daughter’s side during labor.

Prince Harry told reporters outside the royal residence that “Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, and we’re both absolutely thrilled.”

The new dad is “over the moon,” with pride and happiness at the new addition to their family.

Despite not yet having a name, the youngest royal is now seventh in line to the British throne. The birth of this child is of great importance in England, as the boy is the first child of mixed race to be born into the royal family — although some historians claim that Queen Victoria was.

Regardless, the baby is big news for the Windsors, Britain, and the world in general.

Congrats to the happy couple!

Even royals can be remorseful.

Prince Phillip got into some trouble last week while driving near Sandringham Estate. The 97-year-old’s Land Rover Freelander overturned as a result of a collision with a Kia on the 17th of January.

While the Duke of Edinburgh was unharmed (despite not wearing a seatbelt at the time), the passengers of the other vehicle were not as fortunate. The driver, Emma Fairweather, sustained a broken wrist, and her passenger received scrapes to the knee. Thankfully, a 9-month-old baby in the backseat was completely fine.

Fairweather expressed irritation that the Prince had not apologised for the incident, and was spotted with a replacement vehicle (again, sans seatbelt) just days later.

But the Royal family has heeded her disappointment and now responded. In a typed letter, the Prince wrote:

“I would like you to know how very sorry I am for my part in the accident at the Babingley crossroads. I have been across that crossing any number of times and I know very well the amount of traffic that uses that main road. It was a bright sunny day and at about three in the afternoon, the sun was low over the Wash. In other words, the sun was shining over the main road. In normal conditions I would have no difficulty in seeing traffic coming from the Dersingham direction, but I can only imagine that I failed to see the car coming, and I am very contrite about the consequences. I was somewhat shaken after the incident, but I was greatly relieved that none of you were seriously injured. As a crowd was beginning to gather, I was advised to return to Sandringham House by a local police officer. I have since learned that you suffered a broken arm. I am deeply sorry about this injury. I wish you a speedy recovery from a very distressing experience.”

We dare say that letter is worth a crumpet or two.

It appears Britons are not keen on a King Charles.

As stalwart as she is, Queen Elizabeth II will not be around forever.

The 92-year-old has reigned over the United Kingdom and its constituencies since 1952 when her father, King George VI, passed away.

Her Majesty’s heir apparent is her eldest son, Prince Charles.

But it seems as though the public is not in favor of a royal reign under the 70-year-old.

A survey, conducted by BMG Research on behalf of The Independent, shows that 46% of the UK’s citizens would like to see Prince Charles step down. The almost 50% majority would prefer that the Prince of Wales step aside to allow his own son, Prince William, rule instead. 27% of those questioned would, in fact, like to see the crown passed straight to the Duke of Cambridge.

If it were to happen — no matter how unlikely — it would be the second abdication after King Edward VIII did so due to falling in love with Wallis Simpson, an American divorcée, making way for King George VI.

King Charles? Thank U, Next!

It’s the holidays and even the royals are getting into the spirit!

Kensington Palace has released photographs which are likely to be on the Christmas cards of the monarchical members.

This marks the first holiday where Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s family numbers five, thanks to the birth of Prince Louis in April. The 8-month-old is being held by his mother whilst surrounded by his siblings, Charlotte and George, and his father.

Despite being the future king of England, William and his young family appear like any other as they rest against a tree trunk outside their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk.

Releasing their own photograph were newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The black and white picture is from their evening wedding reception, showing them hand-in-hand watching fireworks erupt in the grounds of Frogmore House in Windsor.

Happy holidays!

Princess Eugenie, who is the daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Duchess of York, Sarah (aka Fergie), is the second of Queen Elizabeth II’s grandchildren to walk down the aisle this year.

The 28-year-old has been dating liquor executive, Jack Brooksbank, for the last 7 years.

The pair married at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got hitched just 5 months ago.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were of course in attendance for their cousin’s big day.

Hamilton & Harry.

For their first public appearance since a friend’s wedding on August 4, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a gala performance of Hamilton in support of Sentebale. The charity, founded by Prince Harry in 2006, helps children with HIV in Africa.

The couple was greeted and seated by the creator of the hit Broadway show Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda. Apparently, Harry was so moved and inspired by the performance, that he decided that it was an opportunity to also make his musical debut!

Harry took to the stage at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London and after thanking the cast and crew, he went on to sing the first line of fan-favorite “You’ll Be Back,” sung by the character King George III.

Despite keeping it very short — he did only sing the first two words! — the Prince immediately stole the show and cast, crew and audience were overfilled with delight.

Lucky for those who weren’t lucky enough to attend the gala performance, Kensington Palace tweeted a short video of the moment, which was then retweeted by creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, who added the caption, “King George III’s great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson The Duke of Sussex sang a few bars tonight.”

2018 is indeed shaping up to be the royal family’s biggest year yet.

If the Queen celebrating the 65th anniversary of her coronation, the birth of Prince Williams and Kate Middleton’s third royal baby and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, wasn’t enough, the British monarchy is about to make history (again!).

Another royal wedding is set to take place this summer, and it will be even more historic than the last as it will be the first-ever same-sex marriage in the history of the Royal family. The Queen’s cousin, Lord Ivar Mountbatten, will be the first member of the extended royal family to have a gay wedding.

Mountbatten spoke of his marriage to his longterm partner, James Coyle with the Daily Mail. “I really wanted to do it for James. He hasn’t been married. For me, what’s interesting is I don’t need to get married because I’ve been there, done that and have my wonderful children; but I’m pushing it because I think it’s important for him. James hasn’t had the stable life I have. I want to be able to give you that.”

Mountbatten was married to Penny with whom he shares three daughters, Ella, 22, Alix, 20, and Luli, 15. The 55-year-old aristocrat made headlines when he came out in 2016

This wedding is set to place in the summer at a private chapel in Devon, England, well before another royal wedding, that of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on October 12.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Just three weeks after their wedding, newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended Trooping the Colour on Saturday in London. The event is held annually on the second Saturday of June to mark Queen Elizabeth’s official birthday.

Three carriages led the procession across London, the first with Camilla and Kate, the second carrying Prince Harry and Meghan, and the third, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie of York and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

The Duchess of Sussex wore a custom two-piece set by Carolina Herrera, breaking royal protocol again as the top was an off-the-shoulder piece. She completed the look with a shiny blowout, rather than her usual messy bun.

Then came the time for Meghan’s first time on the balcony as she joined the entire royal family to watch the traditional fly-past by the Royal Air Force. The new Duchess is hard at work, marking sure to fit in with the royal family. While they were on the balcony, Meghan said to Harry, “say when” with regards to curtsying, to which he replied “now”, helping that Meghan to be in perfect timing with the rest of the family.

Next week Meghan will join the Queen for their first solo public commitment together.
