These days, Mandy Moore is better known as an actress, courtesy of her role in the award-winning show This Is Us.

But before she was renowned as the matriarch Rebecca Pearson, Mandy started out as a singer, whose debut “Candy” peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1999.

The 35-year-old has now released her first new song in a decade!

That’s right. The last time we had new music from the songstress was the year 2009 when Glee was still a thing and Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards.

“It’s everything to be back in the studio again. I’m like, ‘I’ve missed this.’ It’s been over a decade… Everything is sort of coalescing in the right way, and I’m very grateful,” Moore told E! News in June.

The new track, “When I Wasn’t Watching”, will form part of her upcoming album.

“It’s a little terrifying — truth be told,” she said during a Q&A session on Instagram. “It’s been 10 years, but this is just the beginning — more music to come.”

We can’t wait!

The trailer opens with Rebecca (Mandy Moore) telling Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) just how much strangers can have an impact on someone’s life, teasing the slew of complete strangers that are about to join the Pearsons’ story.

“It’s so strange, isn’t it?” she says. “How just like that, a complete stranger can become such a… big part of your story. It’s actually kind of terrifying, you know?”

Ventimiglia and Moore, as well as series stars Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones will be joined by Asante Blackk, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Omar Epps, Bahara Golestani, Jennifer Morrison, Timothy Omundson, M. “Many of our characters are in the middle of their stories, and that’s a point where characters are opening up to new things and new things are starting,” series creator Dan Fogelman told Entertainment Weekly. “That becomes a very exciting period for almost all of the characters, and for some of them, maybe a very scary period in terms of how fraught their storylines are.”

Mandy Moore climbed Mt. Everest!

Well, she climbed to Mt. Everest base camp. But that’s still a pretty impressive feat — especially considering how dangerous the mountain is. In this season alone, eleven people have already lost their lives on the climb.

There’s no way to distill this experience down to a few sentences. There’s no way to encapsulate what coursed through our veins and brains living in the mountains this past week. It will come in time. I think I’m slowly learning that I feel most like me when I’m outdoors. It’s couldn’t be any more outside my every day realm and yet there’s something entirely refreshing about being tasked with nothing more than breathing and slowly putting one foot in front of the other. One thing I know for certain is that this trip was what it was thanks in large part to the company. Being able to adventure alongside those you love deeply (@streicherhair, @chaseweideman, @thejendaltonshow) and new friends alike (@starfire_reid, @julianapse, @tyler__reid, @sherpatseringdolker), is an absolute gamechanger. We shared everything: laughs, toilet paper, snacks, skincare, the silly songs that got stuck in our heads, milk tea, selfies, the “happy naturals”, etc…. all the makings of a quality trip to the most remarkable place any of us have ever been. I’m also left inspired by the collective perseverance this group had to help each other every step of the way and to watch as we all met this shared goal of reaching base camp together is something I’ll never forget. Thank you to our friends at @eddiebauer for making this happen! And to the true MVP of this trek, @melissaarnot: thank you for sharing such a substantial piece of yourself and this second home of yours with us. It’s every bit as magical as you described: Your expertise, your stories, your wisdom, your belief in us…. set the tone for this entire experience…. The funny thing is, Melissa kept mentioning this idea of meditating and making goals while we were in the midst of the “pain cave”. It’s easy to daydream and make big plans when you’re down at sea level but it’s a much taller order to do it while in the grips of something truly difficult. Message received. I dug deep while in the midst of all of those pressure breaths and made a mental list of things that scared me but I was anxious to tackle. Now that I’m back on solid ground, I can’t wait to home and get to it. #whyihike #ebpartner

There is so much magic in these mountains. They represent adventure in the grandest form and in a language all their own. The idea of standing at the base of the world's tallest peak with @eddiebauer, a brand that has been outfitting record-setting climbers since the beginning – from the first American ascent in 1963 (Jim Whittaker) to our guide @melissaarnot, the first American Woman to ascend and descend Everest without oxygen, is truly beyond my wildest imagination. Traversing this terrain has its challenges. Breathing at altitude, for instance, is not easy. One of the greatest gifts/lessons that Melissa simultaneously bestowed on us during this trek was the fine art of pressure breathing. It makes all the difference as you climb higher. It’s essentially a big inhale and a sharp, forceful exhale, like you’re blowing out a candle across the room, to open up your lungs, allowing you to use more oxygen, etc… Besides hydration and staying nourished, breathing is THE vital key in the fight against altitude sickness. It’s also a major takeaway that I will be employing back to the real world whether I’m in the midst of a tough workout or a weird day. Mind blown. So as we weaved around the Himalayas from 14,400ft-16,200ft-17,600ft: this particular technique was essential in propelling us forward. Needless to say, this part of the world holds a very special place in @melissaarnot’s heart so her willingness to share it, as well as her time, knowledge and endless trove of stories were so appreciated by all of us lucky enough to walk alongside her this past week. Her belief in our abilities to keep moving and ultimately make it to the base of the Mighty, Mighty Mt. Everest was so powerful. Spoiler alert: we made it!!! It’s impossible to be lucky enough to arrive at the foot of these mammoth peaks and not be attuned to the palpable energy of all of those who came before and lost their lives in these mountains. The wave of emotion: respect, reverence, appreciation….that washed over us as we took in the prayer flags and yellow domed tents of basecamp AND sat on the rocks regarding the chortens that dot the hillside of the Tukla Pass the day before, profoundly

Moore’s trip was led by Melissa Reid, the first American woman to summit and descend Everest without any supplemental oxygen; which is extremely impressive, to say the least, considering altitude sickness is the leading cause of death for climbers.

Moore also divulged insider tips and mountain pleasantries such as enjoying relieving oneself in mother nature, and experiencing “altitoots” — or HAFE (high altitude flatus expulsion), which “…is characterized by an increase in both the volume and the frequency of the passage of flatus, which spontaneously occurs while climbing to altitudes of 11,000 feet or greater” according to Dr. York E. Miller.

Regardless of her flatulence problems, we’re proud of the actress. Congrats Mandy!

Mandy Moore is probably best known these days as a mom of triplets who keeps flipping between timelines, but those of us who were around in the early 2000s remember the This Is Us star as a singer.

And now, years later, she’s going back to where it all began.

We may have heard Mandy’s angelic voice on screen while her This Is Us character, Rebecca Pearson, attempted to pursue a singing career, but the actress herself has seemingly put her own music on hold.

That said, while on an episode of Busy Tonight, the 35-year-old hinted that she is working on some new tracks.

“I haven’t put out a record in a decade,” she told host Busy Phillips. “I’m writing with my friends, I’m writing with my husband.”

Mandy has been married to Taylor Goldsmith, who is the lead singer and guitarist of rock band Dawes, since November.

The “I Wanna Be With You” singer also revealed the sound she’s aiming for: “I want it to sound like what Fleetwood Mac would sound like in 2019.”

We’ll definitely be listening.

There is no point denying that gender pay discrepancy is a real thing in Hollywood.

Only a few months ago it was revealed that Claire Foy who plays Queen Elizabeth II on The Crown was being paid less than her consort, Matt Smith.

Westworld actress, Evan Rachel Wood, also detailed that from season 3 she would receive the same pay as her male counterparts which, she says, has “never, never” happened before.

Dozens of actors and filmmakers including This Is Us stars, Sterling K. Brown and Mandy Moore, veteran actress Jane Fonda, Black Monday actor Don Cheadle, and director of Selma, Ava DuVernay, have signed an open letter to Hollywood addressing the issue.

“There is an egregious wage gap for historically female-majority crafts,” the letter stated. “It’s time for the Entertainment Industry to take a hard look at its pay and compensation practices above and below the line to make sure all productions meet the legal ― and moral ― requirement to pay fairly without discrimination.”

According to Forbes, the highest-earning actors in Hollywood between June 2017 and 2017 earned a combined total of $748.5 million compared to their female counterparts with $186 million.

According to Mandy Moore’s Instagram story from the evening, they didn’t plan this but were thrilled with the result. Moore’s dress was a custom Ralph Lauren slip, Susan Kelechi wore a Rubin Singer gown, while Chrissy Metz opted for a custom Kate Spade New York piece. The ladies dominated the evening in electric blue times three.

The evening was quite a success for This Is Us cast as they went home with the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Furthermore, Sterling K.
