]]> The family of late rapper Mac Miller announced that he has a new album coming. 

According to their statement shared on Miller’s social media, the new album, titled Circles, will drop January 17th. The album was originally conceived as a companion album for Swimming. 

Miller’s producer Jon Brion began working on Circles prior to Miller’s death in September 2018, and it was Brion who finished the record.

“This is a complicated process that has no right answer. No clear path. We simply know that it was important to Malcolm for the world to hear it,” the family said.

The “God is a Woman” singer’s ex, Mac Miller, passed away last week as a result of an overdose. In the wake of the rapper’s death, dozens of fellow artists expressed their condolences on social media.

Ariana, who dated Mac for 2 years, is now one of them.

“You were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to,” she wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post in which she shared a video.

The pair split up in May, with the 25-year-old facing attacks on social media by people claiming she was the cause of the 26-year-old’s death.

RIP, Mac Miller.

Rapper Mac Miller — whose real name is Malcolm James McCormick — was found dead in his California home at the age of 26.

The What’s the Use? rapper released 5 studio albums during his lifetime and also launched his own record label, REMember.

Following a statement by his family confirming his death, fellow musicians and other stars paid tribute to the late artist.

Amongst them was Chance the Rapper who revealed that Mac had helped launch his career:

John Mayer, who played guitar on Small Worlds from Mac’s latest album, Swimming, shared a blank page to express his sadness:

Macklemore acknowledged his own struggle with substance abuse, which Mac shared, saying he is “shaken that someone who had such a light can be taken from this world so easily.”

Such a genuine person. Brilliant sense of humor. A true artist. Your spirit is what impressed me the most. The energy you brought to any space you were in. Contagious. You reached out to me at times when others didn’t. You were human. And we shared the same disease. A disease that is out to kill us, and when left untreated eventually will. I’m shaken. Shaken that someone who had such a light can be taken from this world so easily. It could have been me too many times to count. On the surface people that appear to have it all, are not exempt from the gravity and cunning nature of this disease. If you’re in the midst of addiction tell someone what’s going on. Don’t be a secret. Go to a 12 step meeting. Introduce yourself and you’ll be greeted with love and understanding from people that are fighting the same battle. Surrender. There are many paths, but it’s the only thing that has worked for me. I’m scared. Scared of how real this all is. Life and death. Beyond sad. Such a beautiful soul. Sending love to family, friends and everyone whose life was better because of your presence on this earth. Rest In Peace Mac 💔
