]]>The post 2020 Grammy Awards: Lizzo Leads the Way With 8 Nods appeared first on TheDailyDay.
]]>The R&B singer will be competing for the prestigious album of the year award with the deluxe edition of her latest album Cuz I Love You, but this isn’t the only major category where she scored a nomination.
Lizzo’s chart-topping breakout single “Truth Hurts” managed to gain eligibility for a Grammy Award despite being released in 2017, and it received nominations in three different categories: record of the year, song of the year, and best pop solo performance.
Lizzo will be the only artist with eight nods at this year’s ceremony, but she’s in a pretty good company on the list. Rising stars Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X also had an amazing run this year and ended up being awarded six Grammy nominations each.

]]>2019 has been a fantastic year for the rapper. Not only has his single “Old Town Road” topped the charts, it also made history by becoming the longest number 1 atop the Billboard Hot 100 in 61 years, staying there for 19 weeks.
In addition, the Billy Ray Cyrus collaboration won two MTV Video Music Awards, including Song of the Year.
But all that success makes one tired.
And so, the 20-year-old has decided to take a break.
“It’s been a wild last 7 months and I’m ready to take a little time off,” he wrote on Twitter.
While the break is well-deserved, the timing is disappointing for fans as Lil Nas X has now decided to pull out of his scheduled performances at Twitchcon and the Sandbox music festival.
“Sorry to everyone attending Twitchcon or the Sandbox music festival, I will not be there,” he continued. “I love u guys and will make it up to you some way.”
Have a good rest, Lil Nas X!

]]>For 24 years, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men reigned supreme at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, thanks to their 1995 song, “One Sweet Day”.
At the time, the track spent 16 weeks at number one — a feat which was not broken, but only matched, by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber’s 2017 hit, “Despacito.”
Until now, that is.
Lil Nas X has managed to do what none of the others could by having his collaboration with Billy Ray Cyrus, “Old Town Road,” linger at the top spot for a record-breaking 17 weeks!
The song was removed from the Country chart earlier this year after Billboard claimed that it did “not embrace enough elements of today’s country music to chart in its current version.” The rapper then reworked the track by adding Cyrus, and it reached number one in April.
Lil Nas thanked his fans in a video message posted on social media, as well as a tweet saying, “YEEE TF HAWWW.”
Can’t nobody tell him nothin’!
