Zoe Saldana has a plan for her Marvel character…

The Avatar actress has played Gamora in four MCU films, the most recent of which was Avengers: Endgame.

There, her character, who is the adopted daughter of Thanos, decided to go off to an unknown location, leaving her fellow Guardians of the Galaxy (and Thor) to go in search of her.

With James Gunn finally being allowed to return to the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and the third installment moving ahead, Saldana has shared her thoughts on what she would like to happen to her green alter-ego.

“There’s a part of me that wants her to go back. Find her way back to the Guardians. But there’s also a part of me that wants to explore a bad Gamora,” she said at Seattle’s ACE Comic-Con.

“I’ve never seen that and she’s, you know, she’s considered the most lethal assassin. The most lethal woman in the galaxy. So I would want to see what that wrath looks like, also because it would just give me layers to sort of work on. But yeah, I want her to get back to the Guardians.”

With Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. III only due out in 2021, there’s a lot of time to speculate…

Beyoncé may run the world, but James Gunn is in charge of the galaxy.

In a move that has left us still struggling to lift our mouths off the floor, James Gunn has been rehired to helm the third chapter of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Gunn, who directed both volumes I and II, was publicly and unceremoniously fired last year after decade-old tweets that made light of rape and pedophilia were dug-up by alt-right journalists.

At the time of Gunn’s dismissal, the cast of Guardians signed a petition calling for his reinstatement, but neither Disney nor Marvel would budge on their decision.

Until now.

Deadline confirmed that Gunn has been brought back to write and direct volume 3 of the franchise, which has been delayed by several months.

It seems as though his continuous apologies and dignified behavior following the debacle is what prompted Disney to reverse its decree.

“I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be,” the filmmaker said in his first tweet after the news broke.

The already heavily-delayed production is now set to be even more so as the studio has agreed to wait until Gunn wraps up his current project, Suicide Squad 2, but we’re happy to have him back onboard as we’re sure many others are too.

Dave Bautista is doubting his role as a guardian of the Galaxy as a result of an executive decision by Disney.

The studio fired director of Guardian of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 (and the previous two films in the franchise), James Gunn, in July as a result of tweets he made a decade ago that had resurfaced.

Despite the 51-year-old having apologized for the remarks, and cast members writing an open letter in support of him, Disney chose to hold by its decision.

Bautista, who plays Drax, appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show where he revealed that his future with the franchise is uncertain, telling the host, “It’s a bitter-bitter conversation because I’m not really happy with what they’ve done with James Gunn.”

As for where the project currently stands, the 49-year-old said, “They’re putting the movie off. It’s on hold indefinitely,” concluding with, “To be honest with you I don’t know if I want to work for Disney.”

The studio recently dismissed crew members who had shown up for pre-production, telling that they could look for other work.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is in search of a new director following the dismissal of James Gunn.

The filmmaker has helmed both previous films in the Marvel franchise and was in the midst of writing the screenplay for the third installment.

Walt Disney Studios, which distributes the Guardians films, confirmed that Gunn had been fired after tweets he made in 2008 and 2009 regarding rape and pedophilia resurfaced.

At the time of the resurface, the 51-year-old said, “Many people who have followed my career know, when I started, I viewed myself as a provocateur, making movies and telling jokes that were outrageous and taboo. As I have discussed publicly many times, as I’ve developed as a person, so has my work and my humor.”

On Friday, Chairman of Walt Disney Studios, Alan Horn, “The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him.”

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is scheduled to begin filming in the fall with a release date sometime in 2020.
