Fox renews Duncanville for a second season. 

Multiple outlets confirm that the animated family comedy co-created by Amy Poehler with Julie and Mike Scully has been renewed for another season. 

The series Duncan, voiced by follows Poehler, an average 15-year-old boy with a rich fantasy life and the people in his world. Voice starring alongside Poehler is Ty Burrell, Riki Lindhome, Betsy Sodaro, Yassir Lester, and Zach Cherry.

Duncanville is another great addition to our Sunday Animation Domination block,” said Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment at Fox Entertainment. “Amy, Mike and Julie have been fantastic partners, as have the teams at 20th and Universal Television. Our thanks also go out to the entire voice cast, including Ty, Riki, Betsy, Yassir, Zach, Joy, Rashida and Wiz. Duncan may be an average teen. However, the show is anything but, and we can’t wait for a brand-new season of Harris family adventures.”

Per the network, in its first season, Duncanville has averaged 2.3 million viewers per episode in multi-platform viewing.

Call Me Kat finds its male lead. 

American Horror Story alum Cheyenne Jackson has been tapped to star opposite Mayim Bialik in the comedy from writer Darlene Hunt. 

In the series based on Miranda Hart’s BBC series Miranda, Kat (Bialik), is a 39-year-old woman who struggles every day against society and her mother Sheila (Swoosie Kurtz) to prove that you CANNOT have everything you want and still be happy. Which is why she spent the money her parents set aside for her wedding to open a Cat Café in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Jackson will play Max, Kat’s high school crush, who recently returned from teaching overseas and now works as a bartender across the street from the Cat Café. Max is coming off a long-term relationship with an ex whom Kat imagines to be the most beautiful woman in the world, but Max values personality and humor over physical attractiveness.

Jackson’s other credits include Watchmen, American Woman and 30 Rock.

The spinoff series has tapped the talented Liv Tyler. 

Tyler has landed the lead role in Fox’s 9-1-1: Lone Star and will star opposite Rob Lowe. The spinoff to 9-1-1 hails from creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear.

The series follows a New York fireman (Lowe) who, along with his son, re-locates to Austin, Texas, and must try to balance saving others with solving the problems in his own life.

According to Variety, Tyler will play Chief Paramedic Michelle Blake, who is described as brilliant, wry, and the only one who can match wits with Lowe’s character, Owen, at the station. Michelle has an obsession she struggles to control: finding out what happened to her little sister Iris, who disappeared two years ago.

Tyler’s other TV roles include Hulu’s Harlots and HBO’s The Leftovers.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is set to make her return to primetime TV. 

The former Buffy The Vampire Slayer leading lady is poised to star in new Fox series Other People’s Houses. 

Gellar has teamed with Ringer creators Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder to star in and executive produce the show based on a novel by Abbi Waxman.

Other People’s Houses is described as a dramedy, “somewhere between Big Little Lies and Catastrophe.

The show follows “nine people who live in Los Angeles’ Larchmont Village neighborhood. Through the lens of social media, the characters navigate the emotional ups and downs of being parents, partners, neighbors and friends,” according to The Hollywood Reporter

Gellar’s character is a mom and social media influencer named Anne Porter, who finds herself deep in the middle of all the neighborhood drama. 

Gellar’s last regular TV role was The Crazy Ones, which debuted in 2013.

Check out Fox’s Rent live musical stellar cast!

Fox has finally announced the lineup for its live musical version of the beloved Rent. 

Vanessa Hudgens (Grease Live), singer Tinashe, Valentina (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Kiersey Clemons (Dope), Brandon Victor Dixon (Jesus Christ Superstar Live), Jordan Fisher (Grease Live), Brennin Hunt (Walking With Herb), Grammy winner Mario (Empire) and Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman) will star in the live musical. 

Hudgens will play Maureen Johnson and her girlfriend, Joanne, will be played by Clemons. Fisher will star as aspiring filmmaker Mark Cohen while Hunt and Tinashe will play lovers Roger Davis and Mimi Marquez. Valentina will take on the role of Angel and Mario will play Benjamin Coffin III, the newly-turned landlord. 

The Tony-Winning musical is loosely based the opera La Boheme and follows a group of New York City artists dealing with the HIV/AIDS crisis in 1989.

Fox announced the casting with a video on Twitter.

According to Variety, Fox has decided to make some casting changes after having issues with the pilot, which did not make the cut to series. 

While the network’s execs praised Thomas Lennon for his portrayal of the male lead in the pilot, they have recast two key roles. 

JoAnna Garcia Swisher will replace Ashley Williams who was in the pilot, as the new female lead; child actor Jack Stanton will play Dan Jr., the role originally played by Dashiell McGaha-Schletter. 

The casting change was also made possible as both Swisher and Stanton became suddenly available following the cancellation of their series, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World and The Mick, respectively. The two will go on to re-shoot scenes from the pilot this summer, 

Dan the Weatherman centers on Dan after losing his s cushy job as a weatherman at the local TV station. This is how Dan finds it’s not enough to be a charming man in this world, reluctantly finding himself employed by at the local cable station.

Also starring are Natalie Ceballos, James Earl and Daniel Stern.

The series is still scheduled for a midseason launch.

Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Kelsey Grammar has been tapped to star in Fox’s new legal drama Proven Innocent.

The Frasier alum is set to play the character of Cole Bellows, replacing Brian D’Arcy James who played Bellows in the pilot. 

Bellows is a “hard-as-nails and tough-on-crime state’s attorney, who goes up against an underdog legal team committed to reopening investigations to exonerate the innocent who were ‘proven’ guilty.” In his on-screen court appearances, Grammer will face lawyer Madeline Scott, played by actress Rachelle Lefevre. 

Proven Innocent was written by David Elliot (Four Brothers). The series is executive produced by Danny Strong, Vincent Kartheiser, Russell Hornsby and Riley Smith.

The subject matter is very timely and worth exploring; I am excited to be a part of that,” said Grammer.

Also starring in the series scheduled for a midseason launch are Vincent Kartheiser, Nikki M. James, and Russell Hornsby.
