]]>The comedienne has signed a new deal to extend her endearing talk show for another three years.
Ellen has been a household name since 2003, with The Ellen DeGeneres Show providing a fun space for celebrities to engage, a platform for talented individuals, and a few scare tactics along the way.
The show will now be around until 2022, giving many more reasons to get up off your chair and dance.
“I’m excited to announce that I’ll be doing my show for three more years,” the 61-year-old host said during Tuesday’s show. “Mostly because I love doing it so much every day, but also because that takes me to the end of my car lease.”
The announcement of the renewal is in contrast to remarks Ellen made in December to The New York Times, where she spoke about the possibility of retiring when her contract was up.
In addition to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ellen will also be hosting Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways at the end of the year.

]]>NBC has agreed to give the comedienne three specials in which she will deliver gifts to unsuspecting individuals!
“There is no one better to spread holiday cheer than Ellen, whose 12 Days of Giveaways on her daytime show are the hottest ticket in town and the most thrilling time of the year for viewers,” said President of NBC Entertainment’s Alternative and Reality Group, Meredith Ahr.
“We can’t wait to bring that excitement into primetime this holiday season with supersized giveaways, jaw-dropping surprises and heart-warming stories.”
The series, which will run in December, will include three one-hour specials called Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways.
“I was so excited when NBC told me that they had truckloads of cash and expensive gifts that they wanted to give me for the holidays,” the 61-year-old said.
“You can imagine my surprise when they said ‘No Ellen, we want you to give away truckloads of cash and expensive gifts for the holidays.’ Long story short, I can’t wait to host Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways on NBC.”

]]>For 15 years, the comedienne has welcomed viewers into her space as part of her daily talk show.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show is known for having celebrities spill their secrets and play games — as well as Ellen getting down with the audience.
But the 60-year-old has now revealed that her wife, Portia de Rossi, wasn’t so keen on her carrying on with the daytime show which has seen her win multiple People’s Choice Awards.
“I just think she’s such a brilliant actress and standup that it doesn’t have to be this talk show for her creativity,” Portia told The New York Times. “There are other things she could tackle.”
So what persuaded the Finding Dory star not to say goodbye to her show?
Her brother.
Comedian Vance DeGeneres believes that Ellen’s voice is more important than ever during Donald Trump’s presidency, and can act as a unifier.
Either way, we’ll be getting more of The Ellen DeGeneres Show until 2020 as well as her Netflix comedy special, Relatable, which comes out December 18th.

]]>DeGeneres announced her endeavor via social media sharing the tour dates on Instagram, writing, “I’m doing my first stand-up shows in 15 years. I’m coming to #Seattle, #SanFrancisco and #SanDiego. Come see me.”
The 60-year-old comedian will be hitting the road later this year, launching her tour in August with fans having eight chances to see her performing live behind the mic.
During her two stops at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, DeGeneres will be taping her upcoming Netflix special, announced back in May. Back then she said in a release via the streaming giant: “It has been 15 years since I did a stand-up special. 15 years. And I’m writing it now, I can’t wait. I’ll keep you posted when and where I’m gonna shoot my Netflix special. I’m excited to do it; I’m excited for you to see it.”
An Evening With Ellen DeGeneres will mark the comic’s first TV comedy special since she filmed 2003’s Emmy-nominated Ellen DeGeneres: Here and Now for HBO.

]]>The reality star became a mom for the third time in January when a surrogate gave birth to her and Kanye West’s little girl.
With two children already possessing the unusual names North and Saint, curiosity was rife over just what the newest member of the Kardashian-West family would be called.
Kim has now revealed to Ellen DeGeneres on her show that the unique “Chicago” was not her first choice.
“We were gonna name her Jo because [of] my grandma Mary Jo, or we were gonna go with Grace, and then it was Chicago. We ended up with Chicago,” she said.
However, those were not the only names in consideration, as Kanye’s late mother’s name, Donda, was also an option.
“He really wanted his mother’s name. I love that name, too. I just wasn’t sure if it’s so much to live up to,” said the 37 year old.
When Ellen pointed out that her other children have one syllable names, Kim admitted “It kind of messes with me, I’m not going to lie. I really like the one-syllable thing.”
Now we know why she’s called “Chi” for short.

“I’m so excited to get to do another season because I’m not just the producer and host, I’m also a loyal viewer,” she said. “I hope this can continue to be a show that families can come together and enjoy watching as much as I enjoy hosting. I don’t wanna say this next season is gonna be even messier, but I have invested heavily into a whipped cream company.”
According to reports, the second season of Ellen’s Game of Games will have 13 episodes.
The show is just another example of the success that unscripted series taken from the talk-show segments have. Previously, the popular segment from Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was made into a hugely popular series titled Lip Sync Battle which is currently in its fourth season. Jimmy Kimmel Live! inspired the game show Who Knows on ABC while James Corden, host of The Late Late Show on CBS also saw some of his segments being turned into a series, including Drop the Mic on TBS and Carpool Karaoke on Apple TV.
