The latest season of Black Mirror added seven more nominations for Netflix with the episode “Demon 79”. It’s been nominated for the best limited drama, while its star Anjana Vasan scored a nod for the best leading actress. Black Mirror secured the rest of its five nods in the craft field.
The 2024 British Academy Television Awards will return to the Royal Festival Hall in London on May 12, and the host is yet to be announced.

]]>Season 5 will consist of three standalone episodes which, like previous seasons, will be a social commentary on issues in our society such as social media, sex, dating, marriage, work, the afterlife — and technology’s place in it all.
The teaser flashes between segments from the three episodes, where Cyrus appears to play an up-and-coming popstar, a long-haired Grace sits in an isolated desert abode, and Mackie scrolls through pictures of potential female “companions” while flipping burgers at a barbecue with his wife and family.
The Twilight Zone-esque show, created and written by Charlie Brooker, was purchased by Netflix from Britain’s Channel 4 in 2015. Since then, it has become a phenomenon on the streaming giant, captivating audiences all over the world with its dystopian tales of technology –or rather, the way we use it– gone awry.
Black Mirror’s newest season will premiere on June 5th.

Based on sci-fi author Philip K. Dick’s work, Electric Dreams is another anthology series that transports the viewer into incredible worlds beyond the reach of the imagination. Its first season is made up of 10 stand-alone 50-minute episodes, each based on a different short story.
It also has a star-studded cast, including Game of Thrones‘ Richard Madden, Steve Buscemi, True Blood‘s Anna Paquin, Harry Potter‘s Timothy Spall and Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston (who is also credited as executive producer), among many others.
Where can you watch it? Amazon Video, iTunes, and Channel 4’s On Demand in the UK.
In this anthology show from YouTube Premium, you will visit the city of Weird, which is quite literally divided by a barrier called “The Line,” with the Haves living “Above the Line” and the Have-Nots living “Below the Line.”
Unlike Black Mirror and Electric Dreams, the characters of Weird City all inhabit the same physical space, with some minor characters appearing in more than one episode, giving the show cohesiveness.
This show by Charlie Sanders and Jordan Peele only has six 20-minute-long episodes, but they’re each wonderfully bizarre in their own right.

]]>Creator of the Netflix show, Charlie Brooker, admitted as much in an interview about Bandersnatch with The Wrap.
The complex way in which the “choose your own adventure” was developed means that there are scenes within that not even the creators can access.
“No we didn’t do that [on purpose], it was an accident. We only can’t access them because we made changes to quite a few things and as a result — and technically, because of the way it’s been put together — is like one big timeline with all the footage on it and it sort of jumps to points along that timeline,” Brooker explained. “So there was a point after which, I think, we delivered [and] finalised that timeline, where we then altered something to do with the interactive path, which meant that now one or two sections were redundant.”
The former journalist also revealed that he and his team were rather embarrassed to tell Netflix about an ending which directly references the streaming service.
“It was our idea,” he said. “And it came about genuinely as a consequence of us talking it all through.”
And what was Netflix’s reaction?
“They just thought it was quite funny.”
Sounds like a good choice.

The 5th season of the anthology series is hotly anticipated, with the previous installment having been released in December 2017.
According to an account called @NXonNetflix, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch will drop on the streaming service on December 28th of this year.
The tweet was subsequently deleted and Netflix has refused to comment on the leak.
It was announced in October that the forthcoming season would include an episode in which viewers can decide how the ending.
We guess we’ll have to wait and see whether we do get Bandersnatch this year and whether the other 5 expected episodes will be released at the same time…

]]>Season 5 will consist of three standalone episodes which, like previous seasons, will be a social commentary on issues in our society such as social media, sex, dating, marriage, work, the afterlife — and technology’s place in it all.
The teaser flashes between segments from the three episodes, where Cyrus appears to play an up-and-coming popstar, a long-haired Grace sits in an isolated desert abode, and Mackie scrolls through pictures of potential female “companions” while flipping burgers at a barbecue with his wife and family.
The Twilight Zone-esque show, created and written by Charlie Brooker, was purchased by Netflix from Britain’s Channel 4 in 2015. Since then, it has become a phenomenon on the streaming giant, captivating audiences all over the world with its dystopian tales of technology –or rather, the way we use it– gone awry.
Black Mirror’s newest season will premiere on June 5th.

Based on sci-fi author Philip K. Dick’s work, Electric Dreams is another anthology series that transports the viewer into incredible worlds beyond the reach of the imagination. Its first season is made up of 10 stand-alone 50-minute episodes, each based on a different short story.
It also has a star-studded cast, including Game of Thrones‘ Richard Madden, Steve Buscemi, True Blood‘s Anna Paquin, Harry Potter‘s Timothy Spall and Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston (who is also credited as executive producer), among many others.
Where can you watch it? Amazon Video, iTunes, and Channel 4’s On Demand in the UK.
In this anthology show from YouTube Premium, you will visit the city of Weird, which is quite literally divided by a barrier called “The Line,” with the Haves living “Above the Line” and the Have-Nots living “Below the Line.”
Unlike Black Mirror and Electric Dreams, the characters of Weird City all inhabit the same physical space, with some minor characters appearing in more than one episode, giving the show cohesiveness.
This show by Charlie Sanders and Jordan Peele only has six 20-minute-long episodes, but they’re each wonderfully bizarre in their own right.
Weird City also boasts a top cast of big names, including Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner and Teen Wolf), Ed O’Neill (Married… With Children and Modern Family), Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Arrested Development), Sara Gilbert (Roseanne), Laverne Cox (Orange Is The New Black), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead and Okja), Hannah Simone (New Girl) and many others.

]]>Creator of the Netflix show, Charlie Brooker, admitted as much in an interview about Bandersnatch with The Wrap.
The complex way in which the “choose your own adventure” was developed means that there are scenes within that not even the creators can access.
“No we didn’t do that [on purpose], it was an accident. We only can’t access them because we made changes to quite a few things and as a result — and technically, because of the way it’s been put together — is like one big timeline with all the footage on it and it sort of jumps to points along that timeline,” Brooker explained. “So there was a point after which, I think, we delivered [and] finalised that timeline, where we then altered something to do with the interactive path, which meant that now one or two sections were redundant.”
The former journalist also revealed that he and his team were rather embarrassed to tell Netflix about an ending which directly references the streaming service.
“It was our idea,” he said. “And it came about genuinely as a consequence of us talking it all through.”
And what was Netflix’s reaction?
“They just thought it was quite funny.”
Sounds like a good choice.

The 5th season of the anthology series is hotly anticipated, with the previous installment having been released in December 2017.
According to an account called @NXonNetflix, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch will drop on the streaming service on December 28th of this year.
The tweet was subsequently deleted and Netflix has refused to comment on the leak.
It was announced in October that the forthcoming season would include an episode in which viewers can decide how the ending.
We guess we’ll have to wait and see whether we do get Bandersnatch this year and whether the other 5 expected episodes will be released at the same time…
