]]>It’s hard to believe that AHS has been going strong for nine seasons. Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters have had leading roles in every season – up until now. Now, they are nowhere to be seen.
Instead, it looks like Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd will be leading the team. Leslie Grossman and Angelic Ross are also making a return, alongside a whole host of new cast members.
The new trailer shows a dance crew heading out to summer camp. They are hoping for non-stop parties only when it is revealed that the infamous “Mr. Jingles” has escaped from a nearby asylum, it looks like things could go downhill pretty fast.
The trailer follows the style of a generic ’80s slasher. There’s violence, blood, gore, and an unsuspecting group of teens.

]]>The star of all eight previous seasons, Sarah Paulson, is reportedly not going to play a major part in number nine, according to Variety.
The critically-acclaimed anthology series is returning in September with American Horror Story: 1984. Plot details have remained under wraps, but creator Ryan Murphy released a clip in April, which leads us to believe that the 9th season is going to have a slasher-film feel.
Paulson is currently busy with at least two other projects, including one with Murphy.
The American Crime Story actress is taking on the lead role in Murphy’s new Netflix show, Ratched, which tells the story of Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
Paulson is also filming Mrs. America about the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, for FX.
The scheduling conflicts mean that if she does make an appearance in AHS, Paulson’s role will likely be small, much like her part in the show’s first season.
The 44-year-old is not the only one sitting out season 9. Series regular Evan Peters has confirmed that he will not be taking part.
American Horror Story: 1984 hits screens on September 18th.
