Steve Carell may be more accustomed to the big screen lately, but that doesn’t mean he has left the small screen behind.
The Academy Award-nominated actor was last seen on TV 8 years ago as Michael Scott in The Office, a role he played for 9 years.
Unfortunately for fans of the comedy based on the British series of the same name, Steve is not returning to screens in a reboot of The Office.
Instead, he has signed on for a lead role in an untitled drama series from Apple which will star and be executively produced by his Bruce Almighty co-star Jennifer Aniston, and Big Little Lies actress Reese Witherspoon.
Steve will play a character named Mitch Kessler who is a morning show anchor that is struggling to maintain relevance in a changing media landscape.
Apple has already given a two-season, 20-episode order to the series which debuts in 2019.
