Sia does not often reveal her personal self to the public, but she chose to do it now, and for a good cause.
The “Titanium” singer is known for her signature wig which covers her face.
The reason behind it is that the Australian prefers to be known for her music, rather than as a “famous person” who can be recognized on the street.
That said, Sia acknowledges that her status as a well-known individual affords her the opportunity to bring light to certain issues and offer support to those in need.
The 43-year-old disclosed in a tweet to her fans that she has been suffering from Ehlers-Danos syndrome. The disease affects at least one in 5,000 people worldwide and leaves the sufferer in chronic pain.
“Hey, I’m suffering with chronic pain, a neurological disease, ehlers danlos and I just wanted to say to those of you suffering from pain, whether physical or emotional, I love you, keep going. Life is f—ing hard. Pain is demoralizing, and you’re not alone,” she wrote.
Neither are you, Sia.
