We have no idea how a Beverley Hills, 90210 revival would have worked without Shannon Doherty, and the good news is we won’t have to find out.
The 48-year-old will be reprising her role as Brenda Walsh on the show that made her famous in the 90s.
The 6-episode revival was officially ordered on the 27th of February, and has now been titled BH90210.
Doherty has originally said she would not be joining the reboot, which is set to star her former castmates Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling. But following the death of fellow Beverley Hills alum Luke Perry, she has now reconsidered.
According to Spelling, the show will involve the cast playing “heightened versions of themselves.”
“It’s not technically a reboot, because I feel like everyone has seen the reboot,” she said. “We don’t want to be the last ones like doing the reboot thing, and no one wants to see like old versions of ourselves, but they do want to see us playing our characters, so what we’re doing is the entire cast is playing heightened versions of themselves.”
And Miss Doherty will be one of them.
