“Sex and the City” were Planning to Kill Off a Major Character in the Third Film

Kristin David, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall in "Sex and the City"

Perhaps it’s just as well that we never got a third Sex and the City film…

Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha gave us 6 seasons and 2 feature films, but plans fell through for a third, allegedly due to a feud between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall, with the latter said to have made “unreasonable” demands.

At the time, Sarah told Extra, “It’s over… we’re not doing it. I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It’s not just disappointing that we don’t’ get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”

Just over a year after confirmation that SATC3 is not gonna happen (sob), a podcast focused on the HBO show has revealed what would have gone down.

According to Origins, producers of the saucy series were planning to kill off Carrie’s greatest love — Mr. Big!

The film would have then focused on how Carrie dealt with the tragedy — which reportedly would have left little plot for Kim’s Samantha.

While it’s sad that SATC3 will never come to fruition, at least this way we can believe that Mr. Big and Carrie live happily ever after…
