Sabrina Carpenter created a lot of buzz with her latest single “Espresso”, and she decided to seize the momentum. She used the viral popularity of this song as the launchpad for her next studio album Short n’ Sweet, which is coming our way this August.
This announcement doesn’t come as a huge shocker for Carpenter’s loyal fans, who’ve been waiting for it ever since she shared a series of billboards featuring funny tweets about her height. It turned out they were a reference to the title of her sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet, which will be released on August 23 via Island Records.
The former Disney star also dropped hints about her new music in several recent interviews, including a conversation with Maya Hawke in Interview Magazine. She told her she feels “a lot freer and more excited” about the music she’s making now because it all comes down to “honesty and authenticity and whatever you gravitate towards.”
Carpenter gave us a taste of things to come with the lead single “Espresso”, which found viral fame since its release in April. It’s been steadily climbing up the charts around the world, and it’s her highest-charting song in the US at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
