Ryan Reynolds is in talks to star and produce a live-action feature adaptation of the arcade game Dragon’s Lair for Netflix.

The arcade game was released in 1983 and follows Dirk the Daring, a knight who sets out to rescue Princess Daphne from the evil dragon Singe and a wizard named Mordroc.

Daniel and Kevin Hageman (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and The Croods 2) are penning the screenplay. Roy Lee is producing via his Vertigo Entertainment banner, along with Trevor Engelson of Underground, Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, and Jon Pomeroy.

This will be Reynolds’ third video-game related project following Pokemon: Detective Pikachu and Free Guy. Reynolds is best known for starring in the Deadpool movies.
