Riverdale unsurprisingly led the nominations in the TV categories, scooping up 7 nominations for Archie and his friends. The show, based on the Archie Comics, was nominated for TV Villain, TV Breakout Star, TV Ship, Liplock (TV & Film combined), Hissyfit, and Scene Stealer.

Stranger Things was a close contender, with the folks from Hawkins representing in 5 categories.

In the film division, Marvel’s Black Panther, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The Greatest Showman all put their hats in the ring with 4 nominations, followed by Avengers: Infinity War, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and IT.

The awards also highlight popularity in music, social media, video games, and fashion, with the royal family’s newest member — Duchess Meghan of Sussex — in the running for Style Icon.

This year’s Teen Choice Awards will be held live at The Forum in Los Angeles, with fans allowed to vote 10 times a day from various platforms.
