If you’re dying to find out who killed The Notorious B.I.G., you’re going to have to wait a bit longer.

A spokesperson for Global Road Entertainment has confirmed that City of Lies has now been pulled from its release date.

The Johnny Depp-led film was originally scheduled to be released on the 7th of September.

The movie, directed by Brad Furman of The Infiltrator, is based on the book LAbyrinth by Randall Sullivan, about the murder investigations of rappers Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.

Depp plays real-life LAPD detective Russell Poole, while Forest Whitaker was cast as a journalist also investigating the infamous murders which took place in the 90s.

The film has not been without controversy — location manager, Gregg “Rocky” Brooks, claims that he was physically assaulted by Depp and then fired when he refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement. He is now suing the 55-year-old for unspecified damages.

No subsequent release date for City of Lies has been announced as yet.
