It’s been a big year for the royal family and it ain’t over yet.

News of Princess Eugenie’s engagement to Jack Brooksbank broke in January. Brooksbank proposed to the Princess during their trip to Nicaragua. The Princess said of the engagement at the time, “The light was just a special light I had never seen. I actually said, ‘This is an incredible moment,’ and then he popped the question, which was really surprising even though we’ve been together seven years.”

Eugenie, daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, spoke to British Vogue about her upcoming nuptials. The couple will say their ‘I do’s’ n Oct. 12 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

While wedding planning might be too much for some, the Princess says she’s “not stressed at all,” but adds that it is “very nerve-wracking because you want it to be perfect but then you realize that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters.”

Eugenie and sister Beatrice are trying to find their own path as royals as well as young modern women trying to make a life for themselves.

“There is no precedent, there is no protocol,” Beatrice tells the magazine. “We are the first: we are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives, and we’re also princesses and doing all of this in the public eye.”

The September issue of British Vogue is already available on newsstands.
