Disney+ knocked it out of the park with the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and its next chapter is just around the corner! The streaming giant announced that the hit adaption of Rick Riordan’s fantasy book series is officially returning for its second season.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows the 12-year-old demigod as he comes to terms with his newfound powers. His life turns upside down after Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt, and Percy must do whatever it takes to restore order to Olympus.

Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri lead the series as Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood. The show’s supporting cast is pretty epic and includes the likes of Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jay Duplass, and Lance Reddick.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, confirmed the show’s renewal and said they’re thrilled to embark on an exciting new quest with Rick Riordan, their partners at 20th Television, and the show’s exceptional ensemble of cast and creative talent.

Riordan echoed her statement, saying he can’t wait to bring the next season of Percy Jackson to Disney+ and head for the Sea of Monsters with our brave heroes.
