Oprah Walked Her Former Student Down the Aisle

A wedding day is one of the most special days of a woman’s life. Especially if Oprah Winfrey is present.

When South African Glori Nelson walked down the aisle last week, she did it with the talk show host by her side.

You see, Glori had been one of the students at Oprah’s Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Now all grown up, she remains close to the woman who helped shape her life and involved her in her big day as much as possible.

Before heading down the aisle, Oprah helped out with wedding dress shopping.

“I’ve known these girls since they were 12 and 13 coming to my school. Graduating from college. Grad school. Now our first wedding. Looking for the perfect dress. #biglifemoment,” Oprah wrote alongside a picture of Glori and her friends in a bridal shop.

On the day, the 65-year-old media mogul stood by her former student’s side as she walked to meet her groom.

“My three mama bears walked me down the aisle,” the bride wrote on Instagram. “One walked me in spirit. I lost my mum when I was ten and her spirit gained me to them. A praying mum, dead or alive, is sooooo powerful!”

Congratulations!
