There will be a new face when the red chair spins around on season 18 of The Voice.

The 17th season of the talent competition is currently airing with Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, and John Legend serving as coaches.

The “Don’t Speak” singer took over from Adam Levine who had filled the seat for 16 seasons, but she, too, will be vacating next year.

And Nick Jonas will take her place.

The youngest member of the Jonas Brothers will be bringing his years of experience in the industry which audiences got to see earlier this year when he appeared on Songland where songwriters compete for a chance to have their work selected by a major recording artist.

“As a member of one of the hottest pop groups, Nick’s success in navigating all aspects of the music industry is exceptional,” said Meredith Ahr, president of NBC’s alternative and reality group. “We were so impressed by his innate musicality, technical aptitude, and passion that he brought to Songland earlier this year and know he will be an incredible fit as a coach on The Voice. We are excited to see Nick lend his mentorship, relatability, and breadth of knowledge to a new crop of artists.”

Nick expressed his own enthusiasm, saying, “I’m so excited to be a part of The Voice family. It’s such an awesome group of individuals, and I can’t wait to help these artists really build and hone in to find their unique voices.”

Nick will be in the red chair next spring.
