Nick Fury is one of MCU’s most iconic supporting characters, and it’s finally his turn to take the centre stage. The former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is getting ready for “one last fight” in the first trailer for the upcoming Disney+ mini-series Secret Invasion.
Secret Invasion will see Fury team up with some of his former allies after learning that a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years, taking positions of power all around the world.
Samuel L. Jackson will return as Nick Fury, and he’ll be joined by Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Charlayne Woodard, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle, and Martin Freeman in supporting roles.
Even though the trailer ends with Fury describing this as his “one last fight”, this won’t be the last we see of him. He’ll soon return in The Marvels, and it’s safe to assume this won’t be his final appearance since Secret Invasion was described as a “crossover event series” that would tie in with future MCU films.
Secret Invasion will start streaming on Disney+ on June 21 as the first series of Phase Five of the MCU, and it will consist of six episodes.
