The world premiere of Bradley Cooper’s Maestro is just two weeks away, and Netflix finally gave us a glimpse at what lies ahead. The first teaser trailer for Maestro is here, and it stars Cooper and Carey Mulligan as the legendary composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre.

Maestro will capture the enduring bond between the cultural icons Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre, whose relationship spanned three decades. Netflix describes it as “an emotionally epic portrayal of family and love”, but there’s a lot to be discovered once you look beneath the surface because their marriage was plagued with countless ups and downs.

Bernstein is best known as a composer of Broadway’s West Side Story and Marlon Brando’s film On the Waterfront, but his scandalous love affairs drew as much attention as his accomplishments over the years.

In addition to Cooper and Mulligan, Maestro boasts a stellar ensemble including Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, Josh Hamilton, Scott Ellis, Gideon Glick, Sam Nivola, Alexa Swinton, and Miriam Shor. Cooper was in charge of directing the film and co-wrote the script with the Oscar winner Josh Singer.

Maestro will premiere at this year’s Venice International Film Festival on September 2. It will be released in theatres on November 22 before heading to Netflix on December 20.
