Mary J. Blige and Method Man, whose past collaboration yielded a Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 1996, will soon be reuniting.
The two are set to star in Starz’s Power spinoff Power Book II. Clif “Method Man” Smith will play attorney David Maclean, who is burdened with secrets from his past and is interested in NYC’s underworld, which is led by Blige’s character.
Method Man has many acting credits to his name, including Oz and The Wire, and co-hosting Drop the Mic. He recently appeared in The Deuce alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Franco and The Last O.G with Tiffany Haddish and Tracy Morgan. He also co-starred in Method & Red and played himself in Luke Cage.
The spinoff will follow the final season of Courtney Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s Power, which wraps up on February 9th.
