The syllabus at the University of Texas is about to get a little more starry.

Students studying film at the tertiary institution will have a recognizable face at the front of the hall when lectures resume this fall.

Matthew McConaughey has signed on as a full-time professor in the film faculty, where he has served as a visiting instructor since 2015.

The Dallas Buyers Club actor helped design the curriculum, which he will be teaching at his own alma mater.

“It’s the class I wish I would have had when I was in film school. Working in the classroom with these students gives me a chance to prepare them,” McConaughey told UT News. “Making movies, turning words on paper into film, is both a science and art — no matter the time or generation. The elements of truth and genuine joy for the process are timeless. That will always be our classroom focus.”

We can imagine all the crushing students!
