Mariah Carey didn’t want a lot for Christmas, but she got something rather impressive.

The multiple Grammy Award winner recorded the song All I Want for Christmas in 1994 and 24 years later it is still putting people in the holiday mood.

So much so that on Christmas Eve 2018, the song broke a world record.

Spotify claims that the track — which was written in just 15 minutes — hit 10,819,009 streams on December 24th, beating Sad! by XXXTentacions which, a day after the rapper’s death in July, reached 10.4 million streams.

The phenomenal figure means that the song claimed the global title for the most streamed song in a day!

Mariah referred to the honour as “such an amazing Christmas gift!”

We wonder if that’s all she wanted for Christmas?
