Macklemore is the last person we’d expect to drop a holiday jingle, but he decided to surprise us with a Christmas miracle. The music video for his latest song “It’s Christmas Time” is here, and we promise it will melt your heart.
The famous rapper decided to record this song because he always saw himself as “the second grown rap version of Kevin McCallister”, and he decided to fully tap into the Christmas spirit. The festive video isn’t filled with signature Home Alone shenanigans, but it’s still pretty amazing.
Macklemore only makes a couple of brief appearances in the video and lets a group of kids shine in the spotlight. They’re seen enjoying a series of fun holiday activities, including ice skating and snowball fights.
The “Thrift Store” singer said he wanted to celebrate the true purpose and meaning of Christmas with this song, which also featured the appearance from British R&B singer Dan Caplen – “To give, to celebrate and to take back that sweater and end up with store credit at Macy’s.”
