Lionsgate’s Hit Movies to Stream for Free on YouTube

Elizabeth Banks and Jennifer Lawrence in "The Hunger Games"

Many of our favorite streaming services are offering amazing free content to enjoy in quarantine, and YouTube is no exception. Their latest initiative will see them joining forces with Lionsgate and streaming some of the studio’s biggest box office hits for free.

The main goal of this initiative is “honoring the communal experience of watching films in movie theaters and supporting the people who make those places great.” YouTube and Lionsgate will kick things off by streaming The Hunger Games at 6 p.m. ET on April 17th.

This film will be followed by timeless classic Dirty Dancing (April 24th), hit musical La La Land (May 1st) and action blockbuster John Wick (May 8th). They’ll be available for viewing on Liongate’s YouTube page and Fandango’s Movieclips YouTube page.

All of these live-streams are a part of Lionsgate Live! A Night at the Movies hosted by Jamie Lee Curtis, who will share her own movie memories alongside her celebrity guests. Viewers will be encouraged to make a donation to the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, aimed at helping motion picture industry workers impacted by the coronavirus.
