We’ve found a Catwoman… but lost The Riddler.

It was confirmed earlier this week that Zoë Kravitz had been cast as Selina Kyle in Warner Bros.’ upcoming DC film, The Batman.

The character was previously played by Anne Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises and keeps Batman on his toes by being a thief, as well as love interest.

Someone who is squarely in the villain category, however, is The Riddler.

The Beach Bum actor had been in negotiations to play the criminal mastermind with a love for puzzles, but is now reportedly no longer in line to embody Edward Nigma who was previously played on screen by Jim Carrey.

Writer and director, Matt Reeves, will now be searching for a new actor to torture Robert Pattinson’s Batman and his ally Commissioner Gordon who is set to be portrayed by Jeffrey Wright of Westworld
